If you’re new to the Disneyland experience, it all can seem a bit overwhelming. That’s why we are here! To break it all down for you and show you the basics of the Disneyland experience. Not only has Disneyland changed a lot in the last ten years, it has changed a lot since the pandemic and can seem like a whole new ball game! But let’s sort this out together!
Disneyland now requires a dining mobile order for MOST quick service restaurants, meaning restaurants without a dining reservation. For some restaurants, you can no longer wait in line and must mobile order, others you can do both. Mobile ordering is quick and convenient, but can require some planning if you are wanting to eat at a certain time. Mobile dining times can get backed up so make sure you plan ahead to where you want to eat. Let’s walk through the Disneyland app so you can see how to mobile order.
Okay, so starting with the screen on the left, you can either push the plus sign on the bottom tool bar in the middle which will lead you to the middle screen (then push order food) OR you can click the three lined bars, circled on the bottom tool bar and that will take you to the menu on the far right. Click Mobile Food Orders to start.
This will take you to the screen on the left. If you have existing mobile orders, it would show up here as well. If not, let’s push “Create New Order”. And up comes a list of all the different places you can order in your park and the mobile times they have available. Since we love Jolly Holiday, I am going to push Jolly Holiday’s time slot of 9:15PM-9:30PM. (Truth be told, I am actually doing this from home so I wont be ACTUALLY able to order, but I can show you how to do it) So once I hit the time slot I want from Jolly Holiday (middle screen), it will take me to the Jolly Holiday menu. You can scroll through and pick your options. I am going to pick my go to option of the Jolly Holiday Combo. Yumm!
Once I click on the Jolly Holiday Combo (right screen), It will lead me to the middle screen. I only want one so I am going to leave the quantity as one and click +Add. This will then lead me to this next screen. If you want to add more, click modify order and head back and order more! If you’re done, head to review order summary.
So now you’re ready to check out ! You can either checkout with apple pay or a card on file. Once you have paid, they will alert you on the app when it is time to pick up your mobile order. Remember how we chose the time window 9:15PM-9:30PM ? That is your allotted time slot to pick up your food. If you are later than that, they will put the food back. Once you arrive at your quick service restaurant, click prepare my food. This will alert them that you are waiting to pick up your order. On the app, you will be given a mobile order number. You will need this number to pick up your order.
Once your food is prepared, the app will tell you that your food is ready and from there you can find a cast member who will direct you where to go to pick up your food. You will show them your order number and just like that, you have your food and all without waiting in line!
