Our day at DCA was filled with churro tasting. There are so many delicious treats at DCA this year, especially with the Festival of Holidays happening right now, but churros are always at the top of our list. There is such a variety and we picked our very top three favorites at California Adventure to share with you!
PEPPERMINT CHURRO
This churro is coated with crushed Candy Canes, and drizzled with Chocolate and Vanilla Icing and it is a DNM (Do NOT Miss). It is located at the Churro Stand near Redwood Creek Challenge Trail and part of the Festival of Holidays. This was my favorite churro of all. I am partial to chocolate and candy cane together. The combo pairing just feels like Christmas in your mouth! We dubbed it the peppermint bark of churros! If peppermint and chocolate is your thing, you’ll rate this 10/10!
CHERRY CHOCOLATE CHURRO
Located at Cozy Cone number one in Radiator Springs, is this churro of deliciousness. This is a classic churro, rolled in crushed Chocolate Cookies and topped with Cherry Glaze and Chocolate Chips! This was probably the messiest of all churros, but such a great little treat! Chocolate and cherry always go well together, but even if you’re not a cherry fan, they cherry is not overwhelming. This could be a good and bad thing. I personally could’ve used MORE cherry glaze. I found it hard to really mix the flavors, but if you’re not a big cherry fan- you might like the hint of cherry! This churro is MOBILE ORDER only, so don’t forget to order ahead! I ordered and received my churro right away, but depending on how busy they are, there may be a delay. We rated this an 8/10.
DUSTED GINGERBREAD CHURRO
For me, gingerbread is such a classic Christmas holiday flavor. The Dusted Gingerbread Churro definitely delivered on the ginger bread flavor. This churro has sweet gingerbread crumbles, drizzled with vanilla frosting and finished with Christmas chocolates (red and green m&m’s). This gingerbread churro brought ALL the spice. It did have that spicy cinnamon gingerbread flavor which I thought was a party in my mouth. The vanilla frosting was a great contrast to the spicy and balanced out the spice a bit. For me, the m&m’s did very little to enhance the flavor and probably could’ve done without, but the pops of color was fun! We found this churro at the churro stand by Goofy’s Sky School. So Gingerbread lovers, this churro is for you- we are eager to hear if you liked this churro too! Not my absolute favorite (we rated a 7.5/10), but a good one nevertheless!
