Disneyland is known for snacking and dining. It’s part of the experience. It’s no secret that Disneyland has significantly stepped up its dining game since the days of carnival food dining. When planning a trip to Disneyland for a family, often times dining is put on the back burner because it’s almost a full time job how to navigate the parks as it is. We’re here to tell you that dining can be just as much of the experience as the rides and characters, and we can help you figure it all out! Let’s break it all down.
There are a few different types of dining at Disneyland:
Sit down dining- Dining that requires a reservation. At these restaurants, you will be waited on by a server.
Quick Service- Dining that does not need a reservation, or mobile order but has a menu.
Mobile Order- Dining that does require a mobile order and has a menu.
Food Cart- This is your popcorn, pretzel, churro, corn dog or ice cream stands.
Today we’re going to dig into the best mobile order or quick dining in each land at Disneyland.
Before we start, if you do not know how to mobile order, go read our post on how to mobile order through the Disneyland app HERE.
Let’s start off on WHY mobile order or quick service dining? These types of dining are great if you want something quick to eat, and don’t want to sit down long or if you don’t have a dining reservations. Since dining reservations can go quickly, (read more about dining reservations HERE), often times you have no options other than to do quick service dining. And there is nothing wrong with that! There are so many GREAT quick service mobile order options. And since there are so many, sometimes it is hard to know where to go and in proximity of where you are. Each land has its own kind of dining and can have a few different types of options. So let’s break down our favorite quick service or mobile order dining in each land.
Adventureland- You just hopped off Jungle Cruise and you’re starving. Bengal Barbecue is a great option. It serves a lot of grilled meat and veggie options, with sides of rice and breadstick. This can be a super healthy options when you don’t want anything fried, or need a bit of protein! Bengal Barbecue is mobile order only, meaning you can only order through the app.
New Orleans Square- In this charming little corner of Disneyland, lies the French Market. This New Orleans based menu has everything from Jumbalaya to a Shrimp Po’boy. Don’t forget to get a piece of colorful Mardi Gras cake to share.. or don’t share!
Critter Country- Hungry Bear Restaurant is a staple here. Stop here for a burger, fries and a funnel cake. They most always have some great seasonal items as well.
Galaxy’s Edge- Theres a few places to experience here, but if you’re looking for a heartier meal, head to Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Truly this place is out of this world. It really does a great job of making you feel like you are experiencing food from the galaxy!
Adventureland- If you need a hit of Mexican food while at Disney, Rancho del Zocalo is your place. Tacos, burritos, enchiladas, horchata is just a bit of what is on the menu. It is important to not that Rancho del Zocalo is NOT mobile order. It is quick service and you will have to wait in line to order. It can be pretty popular and have a line, especially towards dinner, so plan accordingly.
Main Street-There are a few different options here but Jolly Holiday is my favorite. This quaint Mary Poppins themed restaurant is a bakery and a cafe. My favorite things to eat here is their Jolly Holiday combo: grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. On cold Disney night, it hits the spot. Jolly Holiday often has amazing seasonal item but has some year round desert staples as wells. Don’t leave without a Raspberry Rose Mickey Macaron or a Matterhorn Marcaroon. One thing to note, Jolly Holiday is mobile order, but you can wait in line as well!
Tomorrowland- Based on the Toy Story pizza arcade, Alien Pizza Planet serves up pasta, pizza, salad and breadsticks. This can be a great place for picky kids (and adults).
Fantasyland- Red Rose Tavern has an array of options for the whole family. From burgers to salad and flatbread, you’ll definitely want to be “Be their guest”. Okay, okay, corny jokes aside, Red Rose Tavern even has great options for vegetarians! And do not walk away without trying “The grey stuff gateau”. It’s delicious. (Hehe)
And there you have it! Best quick service/mobile order dining in each land! When planning a trip, have this little cheat sheet as your disposal so that you can plan exactly where you want to go. Happy Dining!
